When I add a new user, their cost rate defaults to the parent rate instead of the rate that is applied to the group I have added them to. Is there a way for their rate to default to the group rate instead of the parent rate?

but keep in mind that there are three places to apply billing rates
and users in projects
so if you set up a different one everywhere
they will go along with the importance hierarchy
I had planned to only set up cost rates by department (group) and have users defined within the groups that would have the same rate.
I did notice yesterday when setting up projects, those projects defaulted to the "Parent" cost rate. Will the user rates override the rates currently being applied to the projects because of the Parent?
Finally, do we have to set up a "Parent" or can groups be stand alone?
